Andy Stott Releases “Violence”, Announces New Solo Album

Techno and post dub artist Andy Stott has announced a followup to 2012’s excellent “Luxury Problems” entitled “Faith In Strangers”. Not only is this awesome news, but he’s accompanied the announcement with a six minute banger called “Violence”. The album art finds his usual black and white imagery set with an Ancient Eastern bust of a head, an almost menacing juxtaposition to the elegant art of his last album. The song corresponds with this, taking distorted synths and gorgeous female vocals to form a massive song that appropriately suits its title. It lies on a plane somewhere between the graceful looping of Four Tet and the beautiful apocalypse of Ben Frost’s latest record. “Faith In Strangers” is out November 18th on Modern Love.
