Rustie And The Future of Trap

Rustie is preparing his second album for Warp Records on August 25th, entitled “Green Language”, and he’s recently shared the lead single: “Raptor”. Like all Rustie songs, it carries his signature frenetic, bubbly synths, but more uniquely than most trap music in 2014. In a genre built around a one size fits all mindset, “Raptor” poses the question of where the relatively new, yet worn out style is going. It’s a banger of a song, almost dizzying with its never ending upward spiral. It’s an already revved up song on caffeine, and completely turns stereotypes of EDM over on itself. “Green Language”, 13 tracks long, will feature Danny Brown, and be Rustie’s first full release since 2011.
