Flicker by Shivum Sharma

Shivum Sharma is one of the most potentially explosive acts around the soundcloud world today, and just this week he’s released the final version of the harrowingly beautiful “Flicker”. He also only has two songs on his site. Existing somewhere in the cross space between Local Natives, Perfume Genius, maybe even James Blake, the track relies on simple piano hooks and a strong vocal performance, all backed up by glowing production from Kwes. A clarinet or flute solo of some sort haunts the coda, and though it’s easy to call on the influences surrounding his music, there’s a burst of freshness that makes “Flicker” somehow sound like nothing else out right now.
