Tycho – Montana

Tycho – Montana

Tycho dropped a new track today! I fell in love with his music on Past Is Prologue, a (highly recommended) record that takes heavy influence from the analogue synth sound of Boards of Canada yet smoothes out the rougher edges of BOC’s sound. Since then, I haven’t paid too much attention to the act, but this new piece has caught my attention. This time around, he’s approaching music with a much more rock attitude, featuring what sounds like a live rhythm section. “Montana” seems to be taking as much influence from Interpol as it is BOC, yet he retains the expansive and colourful palette of his previous work. Excited to hear how the track will play within Awake, his upcoming album out on March 18.
